The appearance of multiple, individual panes of glass in a window sash is popular in various architectural styles, ranging from historic replications to modern farmhouses. Authentic divided lites use many separate glass panes in a single window for those seeking historical accuracy. Simulated divided lites, which come in a variety of styles, mimic the appearance of individual panes of glass in a window sash while maintaining the energy efficiency of a single pane of glass.
Divided Lite Profiles
SDL and SDL surface bars are available in a range of widths to match the sash, panel, or glazing bead profile. Choose between the standard Ogee profile (used on traditional projects) and the optional Square profile in three standard bar widths:
- 1 1/8″
- 1 15/16″
- 2 13/32″
We can create almost any divided lite pattern, including width combinations, unique profiles, rectangular or curved cuts, and more. Choose from an existing lite cut, specify custom-divided lites based on a new design, or ask our design experts to assist you in creating a pattern for your project.
Available with grilles between the glass to achieve the desired lite cut appearance while maintaining the ease of cleaning of a single pane of glass. There is a library of pre-designed patterns available. These are some of the most popular divided-lite designs we receive.
